Governor Signs 2019-20 State Budget
Governor Gavin Newsom signed the 2019-2020 budget Thursday evening, June 27, 2019.
The $214.8-billion State Budget is the largest in state history. The 2019-2020 State Budget takes effect July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Many funding increases authorized in the budget for new and existing programs however will not take effect until January 1, 2020, including supplemental rate increases for many regional center funded providers. Senate Bill 81 includes provisions that authorizes, how the supplemental rate increases for regional center funded providers can be disbursed commencing January 1, 2020. It also contains provisions regarding stakeholder process on system reform and fiscal reform issues. It requires by October 1, 2019 the posting on the DDS website comments and any revised rate study rate models. It includes provisions dealing with regional center transparency; Early Start co-pays; new IPP (Individual Program Plan) requirements; Uniform Holiday Schedule sunset date, just to name a few.
