Low-Cost Internet Access
Did you know that there are statewide programs and various nonprofit community-based organizations (CBOs) that can help you connect to participating internet service providers? You’ll be happy to know that in the (broader) disability community, the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) is one of those organizations.
Unlike other CBOs, CFILC staff will provide end-to-end support for eligible individuals, including active participation in a three-way call with the local internet provider to ensure there are no up-sells or other barriers to accessing what people need and want. Additionally, these staff are Spanish bilingual.
If you are receiving services from a Regional Center, you are likely to be eligible for this program. You may call the toll-free number referenced in this flyer, or you can take a quick quiz at http://digitalaccessproject.org/ to see if you are eligible. Please note that when you take this online survey, you will receive a call back from the dedicated CFILC team to begin the process.
