Fire, Power Resources

A letter from ARCA

Post Date:October 31, 2019

Many communities around the state have been, and will continue to be, impacted by wildfires and "Public Safety Power Shutoffs" (PSPS). ARCA has compiled a wide range of resources for you and your community to use, both now and in the future!

Earlier this month, PG&E began a "Public Safety Power Shutoff" (PSPS), a proactive measure to reduce the risk of wildfires during windstorms. Those storms can damage electrical equipment, knock over powerlines, and cause trees to fall into live wires. Such incidents have cause major wildfires in the past.

More recently, both PG&E and and Southern California Edison (SCE) have shut off power throughout their service areas as major windstorms have swept the state.
