The ELARC Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of adult individuals who are served directly by the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center. Their role is to give input to the Board of Directors about matters that are important to the individuals that the Regional Center serves. The members of the CAC are committed to expanding their membership, spreading the word about self advocacy, and playing a leadership role in the agency and in the state. Meetings are held every other month.
The CAC meetings focus on both business and information. The first half of the meeting is dedicated to discussion and updates from our Consumer Advocate and any other business matter. Our Executive Director attends these meetings to provide updates on the system; however, she attends every other CAC meeting. The second half of the meeting focuses on a guest speaker presenting on a topic of importance to CAC members. Click here to view our brochure.
CAC meetings are videoconferenced between the Alhambra office Boardroom located at 1000 South Fremont Ave., in Alhambra, 91803 and the Whittier office conference room located at 13215 Penn St #410 in Whittier, 90602.

Understanding Regional Center for Adult Consumers on June 29, 2020: Would you like a refresher on Understanding Regional Center, and your Rights? We invite and encourage you to Join the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center along with other adult consumers/advocates for an overview of your rights and Understanding of the Regional Center. This training will be held virtually and it will focus on:
- The Lanterman Act
- How the IPP Process works
- Receiving Services
Please note this training is for adult consumers only; however, your support person/family member may attend with you.

Access Services COVID 19 Update: For those of you that are Access riders here is some information: Access now has a brand new website that went live last week.
Access has updated their face coverings policy and is changing its costumer communication on face covering. Access was recently contacted by the Los Angeles State Council SCDD that they have received large amounts of face masks and other free Personal Protective Equipment on the access vehicles so drivers can hand them out if necessary. There are at least 50 cases of surgical type masks and several cases of hand sanitizers. Furthermore, Access has started a 6 meal and grocery delivery project operations currently ongoing in five service areas. Access also got approval for a Coronavirus Aid Relief Economic Security funding (CARES). For further information, please read the Access behind the scenes newsletter.
