The Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy (OCRA) is open for business with regular office hours. Feel free to call their office for assistance.
OCRA helps protect Regional Center consumers’ rights. OCRA is funded by the state Department of Developmental Services. They assist with helping Regional Center consumers and their families get services like: In-Home Support Services (IHSS), Medi-Cal, Regional Center Services, School Services and Social Security.
COVID-19 page: Here is the agency’s COVID-19 page, which has quite a bit of information about people’s rights and various services that are impacted, including Medi-Cal, IHSS and special education (SPED). It is a work in progress as more information becomes available. That page is easily accessible from DRC’s homepage.
Special Education: With schools now launching distance learning, the delivery system for special education services is developing. Here is their SPED COVID-19 page. Scroll down for questions/answers.
General publications: Also please remember their publication page with many different publications that may be of help to you.
