DDS: Life Outcomes Improvement System (LOIS)

Published on July 24, 2025

California is developing a new online system aimed at better supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with their families, regional centers, and service providers. This system, called the Life Outcomes Improvement System (LOIS), will serve as a new platform for case management and financial information.

LOIS will be accessible to everyone, allowing users to manage information related to regional center services, communication, schedules, and provider payments. It aims to facilitate easier communication with your regional center and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Users will be able to access their information anytime and from anywhere, share updates and documents with their service coordinators, and utilize new tools to make informed support choices that enhance life outcomes.

DDS is inviting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, family members, and advocates to a series of in-person and virtual Town Halls. Join the Kickoff Webinar Wednesday, July 30th, at 3:30 pm to learn about the project and how you can begin sharing what you want LOIS to be able to do.

When: Wednesday, July 30, 2025, 3:30-4:30pm (Register here)

In-person town hall meetings will be held in Southern California, the Bay Area, Northern California, Central Valley, and Sacramento. There will also be two online-only sessions.

The focus of these events will be for DDS to listen and hear what individuals and families want the new online system to do for you. To register for the town halls near you, ask questions, or to share your ideas online, visit www.dds.ca.gov/LOIS
