Mission Statement
Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center is committed to serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families by fostering partnerships which promote experiencing lives of purpose and meaning in their chosen community.
Vision and Core Values
We believe:
- That lifelong learning enriches one’s quality of life and enables a sense of belonging through contribution of knowledge, skills, gifts, and talents. We strive to provide opportunities for learning and contribution.
- In the right of Self-Determination for persons with developmental disabilities. We are committed to creating opportunities for every individual to make choices and decisions in their lives.
- In the right of informed choice and decision making for those we serve. We are committed to being a source of support in creating conversations and a space where individuals can make choices and decisions that enhance their quality of life.
- Every individual should have the opportunity to be a part of their community. We create opportunities for everyone to fulfill their need for an integrated life experience.
- That every individual we serve should feel a sense of inclusion and belonging in their chosen community. We create opportunities through partnering with the community to create welcoming spaces.
- Health, safety, and stability are vital components to an individual’s quality of life. We are committed to ensuring that these values, as wells as personal preferences are considered, honored and respected when contemplating and supporting life decisions.
- Those we serve have the right to receive quality and equitable services. We are committed to exploring, identifying, and providing innovative services and supports that meet the diverse needs of those we serve.
- In fostering trust through equity, transparency, and open communication in our community partnerships.
