The Self Determination Program is a service delivery system available to all who qualify for Regional Center Services. This program allows for individuals to have more authority and freedom in how their services and supports are planned and implemented. Self Determination was developed as a voluntary alternative to the traditional way of providing regional center services. Attend our Self Determination Orientations to learn more about the program or to start the process:

All orientations are done virtually via Zoom. This is a special Saturday session, where both parts are provided in one day. If you want to enter into the program, taking the Orientation is required.

Part 1 will be from 9am to 12pm and will cover:

  • The history of SD & the 5 Principles
  • Person Centered Planning
  • Home & Community Based Services (HCBS)
  • The Independent Facilitator
  • The Individual Budget

There will be a 1 hour and 30 minute-lunch break

Part 2 will be from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and will cover:

  • The Spending Plan
  • The Financial Management Service (FMS)
