Published on January 26, 2026

Effective January 1, 2026, due to the implementation of Senate Bill (SB) 3, the state minimum wage in California will increase to $16.90 per hour for all employers. As a result, a number of regional center vendors may be eligible for a rate adjustment in order to pay employees the new minimum wage.

All providers of services with rates established in the following ways may receive or be eligible for a rate adjustment:

  1. Department Set Rate – Service Code 525 (Social Recreation) - see DDS website link here
  2. Rates set by regional centers through negotiation-click the notice here for more information(PDF, 666KB)View Excel Workbook here to request a rate adjustment.

NOTE: For providers with rates included in rate reform, the increase in minimum wage is included in their rate at full implementation effective January 1, 2026. These providers do not need to submit a request for a rate adjustment.
